I wanted to express my sincere condolences. I realize a bit late, but have only now learned of Dick's passing. Dick was a close friend of my father's (Tom Wilshire) I think all the way back to high school. Dick was also a close friend of my mother (Marge Wilshire), although they had limited contact after my parent's divorce in the '70s.

The last time I saw Dick was probably around 1990, when my father and I paid a visit on a trip back to Pittsburgh. I remember him as such a nice man throughout my childhood.. full of life and laughter... people gravitated towards him. When he and my father got together they would laugh for hours reminiscing about old stories and people.

My father passed away in 2000, but I believe he and Dick still visited together whether in Pittsburgh or my father's place in Minnesota till the late '90s.

I have very fond memories of Dick, and how dear he was to both of my parents.

Rest in peace Mr. Irwin. You were one of a kind :o).
