Hileman
Anne S.
Anne S. Hileman of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away in her Squirrel Hill home on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. She was 88 years old. Anne was the mother of four children, Margaret Hileman, William Hileman, Barbara Duvall, and Katherine Hileman, mother-in-law of Roylee Duvall, and grandmother of Katherine's two children, Andrew and Megan Marrangoni, and Barbara and Roylee's daughter, Emma Duvall.
Anne was born on May 25, 1928 in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in English. Later she earned her Master of Education and Master of History degrees, both from the University of Pittsburgh. She raised her four children in her Beacon Street home and they attended Colfax El and Taylor Allderdice HS. Anne volunteered at Reizenstein MS while her grandchildren Andy and Megan were enrolled.
Later she was employed as a drug and alcohol counselor for Gateway Rehab and Greenbrier Treatment Center. She worked until she was 77 years old.
Anne and her family moved from Chicago to Pittsburgh in 1963. The family fell in love with Cook Forest State Park, 90 miles north of the city. She later bought a beautiful woodland property in Jefferson County where she would spend weekends near a campfire, and stargazing with her children and later her grandchildren.
More than anything, she was dedicated to her family. Her children, grandchildren and son-in-law are heartbroken. She will be deeply missed.
