To the Carvell family:
Dr Carvell was of my favorite professors throughout my undergraduate and graduate educations. His passion for teaching was easily palpable. To me, he made neuroscience very fun and interesting. I asked him to write me a letter of recommendation for PT schools. He obliged, but uniquely asked me to visit during office hours. We sat in his office and he asked me about my life, interests, and professional desires. It was evident that he was truly interested and cared, as he graciously offered advice about options moving forward. In my mind, Dr Carvell serves as a model of what all professors should strive to be. My condolences to his family. He will not be forgotten by the thousands of students he taught over the years.
