Obituary of Mark Thiel

Age 72, beloved father, husband, outdoorsman, and chemical engineer died on Thursday, January 26th, 2023. The cause was end-stage kidney disease brought by systemic amyloidosis, with which he survived for over 20 years. He passed peacefully in the presence of his family at Canterbury hospice. He was preceded in death by his father, Ward Thiel, mother, Miriam Thiel (Schumacher), and sister, Carol LoPiccolo. In addition to his wife Cindi, sons Brent and Greg, and granddaughters Nadia and Natasha, he is survived by sisters-in-law Susie Thum, Deborah Maybank, and Holly Logue, brother-in-law Robert Rhoades, niece and nephew Emily and Christopher LoPiccolo, as well as all of their spouses, children and grandchildren. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
