Obituary of John E. Herring

John E. Herring Of Squirrel Hill, originally of Fleetwood, Pa., on Jan. 4, 2023, age 90. Beloved husband of 57 years to Renee Schellenberg, who predeceased him. Father of David (Lu-in Wang) and Shelley Yeager (Dorne); grandfather of Torin, An-Li, Maia and Codi; and cherished friend of Marilyn Freidman. Predeceased by brothers Arthur and Calvin, parents George and Rose, and grandfather John Edward. He fondly remembered his many childhood friends at the Pottsville Orphanage and Fleetwood High School ‘50, and colleagues at the University of Michigan. John was the best of them—not given to excess, except for the generosity and love he shared so abundantly with those around him. His family and friends will forever cherish his spirit.
