Obituary of Jancy Sue (Spannuth) Evert

Jancy Sue (Spannuth) Evert Age 84, of Oakmont and formerly of Shadyside, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022. Jancy was born on July 1, 1938, in South Union, Fayette County, and was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Bernice M. (Hoffman) Spannuth. She was a 1956 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School and was briefly enrolled at Carnegie Institute of Technology. Jancy spent much of her life working as a travel agent and later as a personal assistant. In 1974, she became a member of Shadyside Presbyterian Church where she met the love of her life, Walter H. Evert; they were married on December 12, 1983. Walter preceded her in death on April 5, 2012. Jancy is survived by her brother, Jay Spannuth and his children, Christine and Randall; three children from Walter's first marriage, and their five children; and by her Church family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, Pittsburgh PA 15232.
