I remember being afraid of Tom when I was in elementary school, but soon learned to love him and his unique ways! You can still say one of his famous one liners and get a laugh out of anyone who went to Edgewood. No doubt he’s using them in heaven and making everyone smile! RIP Tom

I have many fond memories as a fellow teacher with Tom at Edgewood Elementary School. He appeared gruff on the outside but had a heart of gold. He really loved the kids . I last saw Tom and his wife at the Edgewood library a year ago when he was having his taxes done by AARP tax aide. He remembered me and we had a great conversation . What a legacy to have 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, I know that they all enjoyed their grandfather.

My condolences to the Pikunas family for your loss. I remember Tom as quiet, approachable, thoughtful and kind and always a friendly word for everyone. He would be at Koenig Field in the Summer hitting his nine-iron from one end to the other and evaluating each shot. I had no idea of his amazing accomplishments in basketball. He was an all-around great guy and part of what made EHS so special.

Tom Pikunas was the first person to warn us about Pink Elephants in health class. You just don't get that anymore.

May he rest in peace, after he shoots 100/100 through the pearly gates.

I have very fond memories of Mr. Pikunas and his gym classes. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. My condolences go out to the family. RIP
