Dear Mary:

I didn't know that Luis had passed until I read the University Times today. We would have stopped over to McCabe had we known instead of sending this condolence.

Luis was great Engineering colleague sharng similar interest in granular materials. He offered me the use of some of his lab equipment to test some granular plastic particles that we were testing..

We had similar interest in Latin America and his Peruvian course always held my interest having visited that part of the world. I often wished that I could have found the time to join him on one of these trips. I know that these are tough time for you and your daughter but I know if you try to remember the happy times that you all shared is the best way to help you with grieving and remembering.

Sincere condolences to the family. Dr. Vallejo taught my sister sent me at PITT. He was advisor to my older sister for her PhD. Just a few years ago, I ran into him walking in Squirrel Hill, still the same smiling gentleman. May he enjoy the Glory of God. Gracias por todo, Dr. Vallejo.
