Obituary of Fiorina Chianelli

Fiorina “Penny” Chianelli Of Shadyside, formerly of Stanton Heights on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, age 96. Beloved wife of the late Frank Louis Chianelli; mother of Francie Krowitz (Greg), Pamela Chianelli (Gus Salazar), Thomas C. Chianelli and the late Frank L. Chianelli, Jr. (survived by Jayne); grandmother of Natale Fatchet (Bryan), Alexandra Orton (Tyson), Gregory Krowitz, Jr., and Christina, Julianna and Marissa Chianelli and the late Michael “J.R.” Kolcun; great-grandmother of Gabriel and Lily Fatchet; daughter of the late Silvio and Giustina Proietti; sister of the late Livia Alva, Lindo Proietti and Elio Proietti; aunt to many nieces and nephews; also loving canine companions Pippin and Brodie. After a brief dancing career in Hollywood, sharing the stage with Mitzie Gaynor, among others, she moved to Pittsburgh with her husband and built their upholstery business, remaining active there until the end of her life. Penny was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who trusted in and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Regrettably, the visitation is private due to Covid concerns. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Paul Cathedral on Saturday at 10 am. Please wear a mask at the church. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
