Condolences
To the Lewand family,
I want to express my deepest condolences to his wife and children and family. I was so sad to come across this news. I knew Lee when he lived in North Huntington/Irwin area, many years ago. We became friends through my Aunt and Uncle, Jack and Elynor Sutter who were his neighbors. Lee was so kind, thoughtful, and his laughter and positive energy was second to none. He just lit up a room with his smile.
I am very sorry for your loss. Wishing you strength and blessings during this difficult time.

Dear Stephanie, Taylor, Julia, Ramsey and Christian,
I was deeply moved to read the note from Pascale from France. I, too, had the experience of going to a foreign country (France) and being received and loved as if I were one of the family in the family with whom I lived. I remembered how I felt when I got the telegram from France, learning that the dear father of that family had died on Christmas Day, 1986. So I could really feel Pascale's sadness as I had felt exactly that way once, too.
All of this just goes to show what a loving family, and loving circle of friends, your husband and father created around you. I remember him coming with ALL of you so often to St. James Church and his often being the lector for mass. You were all little, and ever so cute.
I also remember sitting around you dining room table during a very difficult time. Your father faced that time like the engineer he was--build a system that will last and care for all.
As the days go forward, I know all of you will say, "How blessed I was to have had such a husband and father." May the Peace of Christ, which is Lee's now, come to reign in your hearts, too. With deepest Sympathy, Virginia Cook
Our hearts go out to you, Stephanie, your children, and the rest of your family.
We are saddened by the loss and the obituary is absolutely beautiful. It sums up our very limited experience with Lee and I personally miss all the fun and laughs we had at our son's lacrosse games at Central.
He will be missed by all.

Stephanie and Family,
Lee was an awesome man who will be missed by all. Lee was such a pleasure to work with, he always made you smile and solved problems with construction sites better than anyone I have ever worked with. I am disappointed that we will not be able to attend the Funeral or Service as I will be traveling for business. I am soooo happy that I was able to spend time talking to Lee on May 22nd, thank you and your family for putting the "Celebration of Life" together it was wonderful. We're sure Lee is in Heaven smiling down on us.

Stephanie,
Sending you and your family my deepest sympathies and condolences at this most difficult time. I pray that the Lord comfort you and guide you through this time.
We remember first meeting you and Lee at Waverly Presbyterian preschool where Emma and Taylor were classmates. Abby and Julia were both babies in strollers. It has been a wild 22 years since and we have always held the Lewands close to our hearts. We were lucky to have Lee as a friend and coach. We are lucky to have all of you in our lives. Although we are heartbroken, mostly we feel fortunate to have had a friend like Lee.
Stephanie,
From your friends in surgery service, our deepest condolences. Our prayers are with you, your kids, and your family and friends.

Stephanie, Taylor, Julia, Ramsey and Christian,
Lee was an extraordinary person and I feel fortunate to have considered him a friend.
I will never forget his quick smile, wit and will forever miss seeing my cell phone ring with the Caller ID showing "Blaise" and to hear in his Pittsburgh accent "hey buddy" followed by some pontification of how the Panthers are going to tear it up this season!
Lee has touched many people in his life, far more than any of you will know. He touched me and helped shape who I am and I will be forever grateful. I will never forget Lee and will miss him until that day when he greets me in heaven.
I wish I had some inspiring way to close but I don't. I am just sad for the 5 of you. I will never forget Lee and will keep you all in my prayers. Never feel like strangers to the Lichtenwalters.
East End lacrosse brought us together and Coach Lee remained a friend and a supporter, cheerleader, partner, and advocate through my five years coaching at OC and since. He gave me the great gift of coaching his daughters and my own, as well as more sideline rollercoaster rides and score book discussions than I can count. We had so many special times together talking sports and history and kids. It was a joy to just watch our sons compete together at Central. I will miss him starting each call with "Hey Friend," but am so grateful for all the many gifts he gave me - especially the gift of his friendship- Anne Madarasz (Coach Anne!)
Dear Steph, & kids,
What a wonderful, loving husband and father . Lee truly demonstrated the love of Christ. I’m so sorry for the void he will leave, but how he filled time & space while he was here is remarkable. You have amazing children who reflect the love of their father and I know you were blessed daily by this man. The loss of a loved one is never easy, and the grief you feel is just a reflection of the love you had for him. I’m with you, praying for God to encompass you in love and peace during this time. Much love to you my sister. Valerie
Courage.
Julia,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your father. May you find comfort in knowing that he is healed, fully restored, in the presence of Jesus.
Thinking of you & your family in this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
