Obituary of Michael J. Shelbert

Of Highland Park passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, age 52. Beloved husband of Rhoda L. Shelbert; father of Melissa H. Shelbert; son of Michael E. and the late Linda J. Shelbert; brother of Tyler M. Shelbert (Jaime); uncle of Foster, Finn and Fletcher Shelbert. Often known as “Guitar Mike”, he loved music and playing his guitar. An avid reader of books and the guy you always wanted on your trivial pursuit team. A hard worker that danced to the beat of his own drum. A beat that brought him to the city of Pittsburgh and to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh. When he wasn’t working for the County Health Department, you could find him bicycling with his family, grilling or baking a mean lasagna. Loved by so many, he devoted his life to being a great husband and father. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
