Obituary of James J. Uselman, Jr.
Of Morningside, formerly of Bloomfield on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, age 84. He was born July 19, 1936. Beloved husband of the late Loreen Mildred (Sepp) Uselman of 43 years. Son of the late James and Helen (Pepka) Uselman. He led a happy and independent life and was active and driving up to a few days before the very end. Jim “Pap” was very much a part of all three of his children and seven grandchildren’s lives and was a constant champion, chauffer and B&B host throughout their lives. He was proud beyond words as the family grew and flourished. Jim was cut from the old school mold where his lifelong priority was to work to provide his family with whatever they needed and take care of everyone even as he got into his later years. An army veteran and a Duquesne Light employee for over 40 years, Jim worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic, can do attitude, logical approach to things, and compassion to all that knew him. An avid gardener, he would provide his friends and family with the harvest of tomatoes and peppers throughout the growing season.
Jim is survived by his three children Dr. James (Ann) Uselman, Jeffrey (Debbie) Uselman, and Dr. Susan (Donald) Simms and seven grandchildren: Dr. Jeffrey Uselman, Kelly Uselman M.Ed, Dr. Emily Uselman, Danny Uselman, Rachel Simms, Sophia Uselman, and James Simms. Jim had two sisters, Jane Zanone and the late Mary Ellen McShea and many nieces and nephews who all knew of Uncle Jim and the humor and integrity that he would bring to any function.
