When are young and new to managing people, if you get lucky, you’ll have someone who is honest enough to speak their mind with respect and help you. Dorothy was one of the people to me. I can still see that “look” I would get from her from time to time that told me to re-think my approach, or to fight for a better way to do something. I am sorry for your loss. Dorothy was a good person and thousand of people in Pittsburgh who never knew her, benefited from her work to make the City’s effort in skill development, ones of excellence and integrity. Thanks Dorothy for being a part of my life.

My sincere sympathy for your loss. Everyone who knew Dorothy also share in the loss. I worked with Dorothy for years but we were in different buildings. We were both Irish & my dad was a police officer, so we had that in common also. I probably spent more time with her on the phone than I saw her in person. She wrote contracts & resolved problems with programs that I would send participants to. I always really enjoyed talking to her & she did every thing she could to make my job easier. I just came home from the Memorial service where I cried & laughed. It was the best service I've been to. Now I am sorry that I didn't get to know her better. We were FB friends & she wrote in a Christmas card that she always enjoyed my posts about animals. I will miss her❣️She will remain in the hearts of those who loved her❤️☘️❤️

My condolances to all of you. So many memories with you guys. Dorothy had the best music collection, I loved looking thru them when I baby sat the girls. Dorothy also took me to my first concert Rod Stewart at the civic arena. I couldnt hear for a week after it.
