I was very saddened to learn of David's death. He was, of course, a great historian, from whose writings and conversations I always was enlightened. Most, however, I cherish the memories of his great generosity, kindness, and good humor, which brightened the otherwise often dreary skies over Belfast and the sterile halls of academia. Truly, his like will not be seen again! Rest in peace!

Kerby Miller

I have such fond memories of David from our time together at Fondren Presbyterian Church. My husband Guy and i send our thoughts and prayers to your family. He was a dear friend. Judy Lynn Parker
