Obituary of Frank C. Cartieri
Frank C. Cartieri, 62, vice president and COO of the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 after an extended and courageous battle with heart disease. Frank was the loving husband to his soulmate and wife of 25 years, Lisa Platt. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Burdette Platt and Margaret Cartieri and caring uncle of several nieces, nephews and their children as well as cousins. Frank is also survived by his siblings, Sherri, Thomas and Mark Cartieri, and was the loving brother to the late Tony, Lenora and Bobby Cartieri. He was dedicated to the Pittsburgh Zoo, wildlife conservation and the fight against Global Warming. Favorite passions included spending time with his family and dearest friends, mentoring young people, golfing, reading and enjoying his favorite pet cat, Solveig. Frank's spirit and love will live on in all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at McCABE BROS. INC.
