William H. “Bill”

Peacefully with family by his side on Monday, October 22, 2018.  Beloved husband of the late Kathryn S. Thompson; father of Dianna Williams (Bob), Barbara Thompson, Linda Diskin (Mike), Carol Golebiewski (Brian), Kathleen Fashion, Francie Thompson and Pauline Calabrese (Nick); dear friend of Bob Scipione and Mark Fashion; grandfather of Kelly, Sherry, Kathleen, Erica, Dan, Jamie, Mark, Erin, Christine, Ricky, Tia, Nicholas, Michael, Christopher, Elita and Christina; great-grandfather of Keagan, Hudson, Lennon and Dawson; brother of the late Jack and Edward Thompson; brother-in-law of Mary Stevulak; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Bill was a retired Captain with the City of Pittsburgh Firefighters and served his country in the US Navy during WWII.  He was also a graduate of the Western PA Horological Institute where he mastered the art of making clocks and timepieces.  Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where Funeral will commence on Saturday at 9 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Maria Goretti Parish, St. Joseph Church at 10 am.  Condolences may be left at www.mccabebrothers.com
