I’m hearing of Adolfo’s passing with sorrow and a smile. He was the next-door neighbor who was a force of nature, a man full of fierce energy with a twinkle in the eye. On the night a burglar set a ladder against our house, what neighbor would not only spot the culprit, but actually chase him off? I admired the beautiful community garden plot he maintained across Stanton Avenue and his doggedness in keeping it going in a drought with (6? 8?) lengths of hose across our busy street. He adored children and his family, and I much appreciated his kindness to my daughter and son.
My prayers go out to you in your loss.
