Condolences
I am sad to hear of Dr. Febbraro's passing, even if it's four years after the fact.. He was my Intro to Psychology instructor at Drake University. He was a good teacher. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
The loss of a family or friend can be so difficult to bear. We can find comfort from our merciful god Jehovah and the beautiful hope of the resurrection that he has given us, and a time when death will be a thing of the past. We find this hope at 1 Corinthians 15:55 where it says “death where is your victory.. death where is your sting” The bible has many promises like this that give us hope of a much better life. I hope that you can find a measure of comfort from the hope found in the bible.
Greg was a wonderful kind man who helped me come out stronger after a very tough time in my life. I am so glad we connected for a time. He will be greatly missed!
I was a patient of Dr. Febbraro and he helped me through an extremely difficult time in my life. I was shocked to find out today of his passing. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with his family. He wasn't a good man, he was a great man and a great doctor.
My deepest condolences to the Febbraro family. We at NAMI Iowa were shocked and saddened to learn today of his passing. He was a faithful member of our board and had just participated in our May meeting two days before his death. He was a valued member of the NAMI Iowa community, and he will be greatly missed.
I'm so shocked and saddened to hear this news. Greg will be missed by so many. He was a true friend who always had everyone's best interest at heart. We had some great times in grad school and I loved catching up with him when we had the chance. My heart goes out to Greg's family, for a kind soul taken too soon.
You have my deepest sympathy for your loss and my heart goes out to your family. One day this will be undone and you will embrace Gregorio again under better conditions. Acts 24:15 & Psalms 37:29. Know you are in the thoughts and prayers of many. Sending my sincere condolences.
I'm very sorry to hear this sad news. I was a friend of Greg's in graduate school at Virginia Tech. I have very fond memories of his sense of humor and his great smile. He provided great care to his patients and I will miss him. My prayers go out to his family.
I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news. Greg and I were colleagues and friends while at VT. Both being from Pittsburgh, we shared the love of Pittsburgh sports, and memories of similar places and experiences in Pittsburgh. We both earned our degrees at University of Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. I extend my deepest sympathy to the Febbrato family for your personal loss, and to Greg's colleagues and clients for this tragic professional loss.
I worked with Greg for many years through the state psychological association to advocate for our profession and our patients. He was kind and a strong advocate. I miss him- he will be missed by many!
Please accept the heartfelt condolences of members of the Iowa Psychological Association, and particularly of the leadership of that organization, many of whom knew Greg well. I have known Greg since 2000 and have never met a kinder, gentler, more gentlemanly soul. I will miss him personally as will many of his colleagues who have shared their memories with each other through messages to each other. We are so sorry for your loss.
I want to express my condolences to you all and say what a joy it was to work with Greg in our IPA organization. I was fortunate to be on two trips to Washington DC and serve with him for about 6 years at meetings and conferences. He had such a wonderful impact on all the people he met and worked with. His spirit and dedication served to mentor and inspire many in Iowa and will continue to do so.
I also work with the Iowa Army National Guard and know he did very fine work and had a dedication to working with soldiers and a range of clients over the years. It was a major blessing to have him as a psychologist in our state and also to have him as a personal colleague.
We enjoyed some good talks about our Italian heritage and found many fun casual topics to discuss as well. He will be missed because he had such a meaningful presence and shared so much with us all.
Very best to you all.
In peace.

Greg will always be remembered by me as a genuine encourager with a true desire to help others. During graduate school, he was always there for each of us in his class with kind words and a smile. He and I had been in communication again recently and his last words to me were "Hang in there". Greg and I had one of those bonds that form when people share hard work and partnership over years. We always enjoyed discussing politics and political gossip. A true friend that I look forward to seeing again someday.
Franco, Vittoria and Febbraro family, so sorry to hear of the loss of your son and brother. God bless all of you as you get through your loss together. John and Patty Sorrentino Our deepest sympathy.
It was such a pleasure to know and work with Dr. Febrarro (Dr. G as I called him.) He was so intelligent yet so humble and he never made others feel "less than." Greg had a great sense of humor and an endearing personality and he will always be remembered. He always made me feel respected and that meant the world to me. I will always treasure the many Saturday's we worked together over the years and the talks we had between clients. I respected him and I learned from him. I am deeply saddened by this huge loss and I send my sincerest condolences to the family of Dr. Greg Febrarro. His legacy will live on through the work he has done. He represented his family well. As you grieve and think of the memories you can be proud of what he did for so many. Dr. G was a gem. Prayers and blessings to the family.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family.
I feel the loss of a fabulous colleague and confidant. For the family, I pray for God's grace in the next days. I know Greg's voice will go on in me.
Le piu' sincere condoglianze da tutti i Febbraro in giro al mondo per la triste perdita di un giovane tanto buono e stimato da tanti. Franco e famiglia, rimarrete nei nostri pensieri e preghiere!
To Greg's Family,
I am one of the lobbyists that has represented the Iowa Psychological Association for many years now at the Iowa Statehouse. My partner Amy and I have worked closely with Greg for several years, since he began serving in the role as State Advocacy Chair, the main link between the IPA members and us. In that role, he often had to take complicated terminology from the practices of his peers and boil it down for us, and likewise had to take our political & policy counsel and translate that into language that people outside the day-to-day interactions at the Capitol could appreciate. Greg was exceptionally good at doing that, and in understanding the complicated relationship that exists many times between politics and the implementation of sound policy. In our role, we ask a lot of a State Advocacy Chair, and Greg always responded and always supported our efforts. I was always amazed at the people I would meet in the policy arena that knew Greg, even though they may not have had any connection to psychology.
You need to know that Greg was admired and respected by everyone with whom he came in contact. He was patient, kind, and always went out of his way to understand the people on the other side of an argument. His legislative work contributed to positive changes in law that Iowans will enjoy for years to come. We are humbled that we had the honor of working with him.
Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Most Sincerely, Craig T. Patterson

I am so sorry to hear of Greg's death. He was one of my favorite psychologists and one of the few I always looked forward to seeing at our Association meetings. We both attended the State Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. several times and had many enjoyable meals together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him in Iowa.
Greg was a generous soul. I knew him with the Iowa Psychological Association. I've been in Iowa for less than an year and Greg reached out to ease my transition from one state to another. We shared professional paths from academia into practice. My experience with him and his reputation in the organization demonstrate that Greg went above and beyond to try to meet the needs of many people. He is missed. My sincere condolences and prayers for the family and close friends who have lost so much with his passing.
I knew Greg on a professional basis. Greg always had to time to say "hi" and ask how you were doing no matter how busy he looked. He represented the kind of compassion I hope to show my patients. He will be missed by those who knew him especially those who received care from him. This world has lost a wonderful mental health provider and person.
To the FabbearoFamiky:
I have known Greg since he came to Des Moines to teach at Drake. He was a great friend and colleague. We worked together on IPA issues for years. His dedication to improving treatment availability for all Iowans was an important gift to our residents. As a psychologist he helped many clients improve their lives.
We met once a month for the Des Moines psychology 3rd Thursday Breadast Group. He was a very supportive friend during my wife's illness and death. It is an honor to have known him and call him my friend. The IPA list serve has been filled with the sadness of those who will miss him and his work.
Sam Graham, psychologist
My heart is saddened to hear of this loss. Greg was such a good person and will be very much missed. He is in our thoughts and prayers. Much love to all my family.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Greg. He was a classmate of mine at Central Catholic. I probably haven't seen Greg in a number of years but, that is what so many don't understand about Central Catholic. For four years he was my brother and that extends a life time. Those formidable years when Centeal takes these freshman boys and turn them into man of faith, courage and service. He helped many.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and other brothers from the class of 84.
Greg On to Victory! We will miss you.
