Mr. Harpur was a classic! He always made me laugh. As a young elementary student, I would stop by the Harpur’s house on Dearborn St. to pick up Andy to walk to school. Mr. Harpur would answer the door and say, “Michele Megarry with the yellow canary!” I would look at him and laugh, and he would laugh! About fifty years later, I ran into him a restaurant. Introduced myself as Michele Megarry, and of course he responded....with the yellow canary!
He was a great man and will be missed.
