Of Squirrel Hill on Saturday, September 30, 2017, age 86.  Beloved husband of Gisela Kress; father of Nina Amenta (John Liechty), Thomas Amenta (Katherine Frey), and Davida Amenta (David Goldhaber); former spouse of Madalon Amenta; grandfather of 5; brother of Thomas Amenta (Janice) and the late Rod Amenta (survived by Donna); also survived by nieces and nephews.  Dr. Amenta graduated from Yale Medical School and served both his Internship and Residency at Yale-Grace New Haven Medical Center.  In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Amenta was an Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine for over 30 years.  A memorial servie at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Saturday, October 28 at 12 noon.  Inurnment to follow at Homewood Cemetery. www.mccabebrothers.com
