Age 87, of Stanton Heights, formerly of Garfield, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017, surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved and devoted wife of the late William G. “Huck” Flaherty. Dedicated mother of William (Rose), Jim (Patty), and Kathy Bartko (Myron). Preceded in death by cherished daughter Pattie Gazzola and loving son Timmy, as well as granddaughter Maria Gazzola and great-grandson Jacob Mejalli. Honored grandmother of Lisa Pampena (Alex), Carey Mejalli (George), Kelly Friedberg (Chris), William Flaherty (Megan), Myron Bartko, Brian Bartko (Stephanie) and Jamie Flaherty (Jessica Fehr). Very proud great-grandmother of 13 fun loving great grandchildren who adored her. Dear sister of Marie Whealton and Helen Canatello. Also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family who knew her best as “Gram.” Beverly’s most heartfelt memories included spending time with her children and extended family, playing endless hours of board games and cards with her grandchildren, visits and lunch dates with her great grandchildren, vacationing in Maryland and Myrtle Beach with her sisters, and her days volunteering at Immaculate Conception School and working at Groceria Italiana in Bloomfield. Her strong will, faith, and determination will be constant reminders of her inner strength to those who have been blessed to share in her life. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc.
