MICHAEL FRANCIS “HACK”
Age 60, of Morningside was called home to be with the Lord early Monday morning, February 27, 2017, after several years of waiting for a new heart. Survived by his loving wife, Janet (Roppelt); and beautiful children, Michael, Matthew (Abbey), Jonathan, Janet and future grandson; son of the late Stanley Tracy (Faye) and Renate Bruno (Tony); brother of Rick, Bill, Christine and the late Richard Tracy; son-in-law of Friedrich and the late JoHanna Roppelt; brother-in- law and best friend of Edward Roppelt, Dolores Roppelt, Diane Bradley (Dan) and James Roppelt; also survived by many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews; and very close friends he considered family. Mike was a loving, kind, selfless husband, father, friend and Central Catholic Viking (‘74). He was a devoted Pittsburgh Police Officer for 28 years, retiring October 13, 2016. He took great pride in his job, especially working his lot for Steeler and Pitt games. Despite his illness, he was always volunteering and willing to help out in any way he could. Softball was Mike’s passion and oh, could he hit a ball! Mike’s loves included coaching his sons in baseball and daughter in softball, never missing a game. Mike always put his wife and children first. He loved watching old movies with his family. He was a great mentor to many children, trying to lead them down the correct path. They will continue to look up to him. He will be greatly missed. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC.
