Obituary of Philip Harry Joyce

JOYCE PHILIP H. Of Shadyside on Thursday, February 16, 2017, age 80. Beloved son of the late Harry J. and Agnes Boorman Joyce; father of son, Mike (Maureen) and their children, James and Julie, son, Pat (Brigitte) and their children, Rocky (Shannon) and Dominique, son, Tim (Nancy) and their children, Connor, Courtney and Nicole and son, Tom Joyce; stepfather of Perry Dick III (Tara) and their children, Amelia, Perry IV and Alexander and Beth Rogers (Tim) and their children, Elliot and Agnes; preceded in death by his late wife, Janice Dick Joyce; also survived by his former wife, Patty Dolan Joyce; as well as his loving companion, Eileen Colianni and her children, Elena and Vincent; brother of Victor Joyce (Ginny), Dave Joyce (the late Kathleen O’Connell Joyce) and Peggy Valentino (Fred); also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Phil was truly a "man for others", nurturing every member of his large extended family, his accounting clients from the wealthiest to the indigent and he also sponsored many friends of Bill and Bob. Phil exuded warmth, openness, acceptance and palpable love in all circumstances. He highly valued his family, helping others, friendships, playing tennis and golf, humor and storytelling. He served on many charitable boards and was a dedicated member of St. James Church, (Wilkinsburg) where his commitment to social justice was embraced. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC.
